These are cut outs of the hands of all the students I taught that year. It was a craft we did as a class, I let them decorate their own hands, then we glued them all together to make a wreath. This now hangs in my classroom.
In celebration of Cinco De Mayo we made tacos! complete with mustache! We had the kids practice their scissor skills by cutting out the lettuce pieces.
For the dots craft above, I needed something for my youngest kiddos to work on that would help them gain control of the glue bottle and learn "a little dot does a lot" so I have them practice making a glue dot and then gluing a paper dot on top.
At the end of the year, my staff always gathers the kids to create a surprise gift for me. This gift is always something for me to keep in my classroom and each graduating student creates a small piece of the larger project. Last years was an avocado tree with the kids painting individual rocks in the planter! These art projects are displayed all around my classroom, I love being able to see the art created by all my former little peaches!
