Have children fill brown paper lunch sacks with newspaper they crumple up ( crumpling works the find motor skills) stuff the bags and tie them closed with green yarn. Have the children paint the bottom portion orange and the top portion green. Then create a pumpkin path with all the pumpkins in your classroom. You can add to the display with your other fall crafts and create a fun fall corner!
It is important to teach young children the drawing of the different parts of the body. Talk to them about what a person needs to be a person. Help them draw it out. Talk it out with them, mention the shapes you are drawing to create this person. Do it step by step simplify it for them. Mentioning all the shapes as you draw it out helps with shape recognition, and break is down to where they can see how simple it is to piece together a picture that may seem and overwhelming task at first.
